We have started receiving the much anticipated new Swarovski 5328 Xilion Bicone Beads which is an upgrade from their very popular bicone 5301 range.

A lot of you might be asking, why! Don't panic and here are some reasons why:

• It features an increased number of alternating large and small facets which results in even more brilliance and greater light reflection.
• Polished "crystal-clear hole" creates increased brilliance and protects threa for long lasting designs.
• A much rounder equator providing increased wearing comfort.
• Can be combined with previous 5301 bicone beads as they have the same dimensions and the geometry are complimentary.

I know many of you can't wait to get your hands on them and we will do our best to add them as soon as we receive them from Swarovski.
The transition period will be from July to November 2009.

If you are a fan of the 5301 range, now is the time to stock up as they will most likely become a collectors item in a few years to come. At the moment we have both the 5328 & 5301 in the bicone categories:

• Swarovski Bicone 4mm
• Swarovski Bicone 6mm
• Swarovski Bicone 8mm

Swarovski has just launched their new Bicone beads (5328) range which is an upgrade from their very popular bicone 5301 range. This new range uses the patented XILION cut which features increased number of alternating large and small facets which results in even more brilliance and greater light reflection.

Because of the logistics of replacing 1000's of size and color combinations, Swarovski has advised that we will only be sent the new 5328 only if they do not have the 5301 in stock. BeadCharm will add the new 5328 beads as and when we receive them from Swarovski. The new 5328 will be in the Swarovski Bicone category but marked as Swarovski Bicone 5328 Beads. Please be patient while we do our best to make this transition as painless as possible.

Will 5301 & 5328 work together?
For most applications, the 5301 and 5328 XILION Bead can be combined, as their dimensions and geometry are complimentary.

Swarovski will be discontinuing the 5301 range so if you are a fan of them, now is the time to stock up.

Many of you have written to us asking about a colour chart for Swarovski crystals. Good news is the official Swarovski colour chart is now available for purchase!

This Swarovski colour chart is made out of solid and durable plastic resembling a rectangular picture frame measuring 10.5x8 inches. A hinged leg is found on the back of this chart which can be used as a stand-up display. You can also choose to hang this up using the metal fixture found at the back. Consisting 4 columns of 4mm bicone beads (5310), the first three columns contains names printed with two crystals next to it, one is the colour itself and the other, with Aurora Borelis or AB finish. The fourth column features 'Special Effects' of various kinds such as AB 2x, Dorado and many more. If you are a big fan of Swarovski or a professional jewelry maker, this is a must have 'tool'.
